Senior System Administrator

Role Objective -

Senior Linux & HP

Key Deliverables -

• Manage, maintain, and administer Linux (RHEL, CentOS) and HP-UX servers.
• Perform OS installations, upgrades, patching, and system hardening.
• Monitor system performance and implement necessary tuning for high availability.
• Set up and maintain server backup, restore, and disaster recovery procedures.
• Troubleshoot system and application issues, coordinating with other technical teams.
• Create and maintain system documentation and standard operating procedures.
• Automate routine tasks using shell scripting and configuration tools.
• Manage user accounts, access permissions, and security protocols.
• Collaborate with storage and network teams for system integration.
• Provide support for hardware troubleshooting and vendor coordination.

Required Skills & Qualifications -

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in Linux and HP-UX system administration.
• Proficient in shell scripting (Bash, KSH, etc.) for automation.
• Experience with LVM, file system management, and OS-level troubleshooting.
• Strong understanding of server hardware and system security best practices.
• Familiarity with backup tools and monitoring utilities.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
