Job Role:

We are looking for an experienced Oracle Argus Technical Consultant with strong functional knowledge to support and enhance Argus Safety operations. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Argus application configurations, administration, and troubleshooting, along with a deep understanding of Pharmacovigilance (PV) processes. This role involves handling complex technical issues, reviewing business configurations, performing dictionary upgrades, and changes. The consultant will also work closely with business users, manage incidents, problems, and changes, and ensure compliance with hosting platform standards.

Key Responsibilities

Argus Application Administration & Configuration:

  • Review and validate business configurations for accuracy and compliance.
  • Manage User Access Administration and security roles.
  • Perform Dictionary upgrades (MedDRA, WHO-DD, etc.).
  • Configure and troubleshoot reporting destinations and related workflows.
  • Maintain and optimize Argus integrations, including Axway Gateway. Incident, Problem & Change Management:
  • Handle real-time incidents and perform root cause analysis.
  • Manage problem records and implement permanent fixes.
  • Conduct detailed impact assessments for changes and ensure risk mitigation.

Technical Expertise

  • Solve complex technical issues within Argus application and integrations.
  • Work directly with SQL databases to generate custom reports and queries.
  • Perform performance tuning and troubleshoot application-level issues.

Functional Knowledge

  • Understand PV processes and interact effectively with business users.
  • Provide guidance on Argus workflows and compliance requirements.
  • Hosting Platform Awareness: Knowledge of Argus hosting environments (Windows/Linux, Oracle DB, Cloud Infrastructure).
  • Collaborate with infrastructure teams for environment stability and upgrades.

Knowledge Base & Documentation:

  • Maintain SOPs, KBAs, and technical documentation for configurations and troubleshooting. Train the team members on functional and technical skills related to PV, Safety Systems and related technologies.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Oracle Argus Safety application expertise (Configurations, Administration, Integrations).
  • Strong understanding of Pharmacovigilance functional processes.
  • Hands-on experience with Incident, Problem, and Change Management (ITIL framework).
  • Proficiency in SQL for custom reporting and database queries.
  • Experience with Axway integrations and reporting destination configurations.
  • Ability to perform impact assessments for changes and problems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for business interaction.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Life Sciences, or related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in Argus Technical Consulting and Administration.
  • Exposure to Life Sciences regulatory compliance and PV systems.
  • Knowledge of hosting platforms and infrastructure components (Windows/Linux, Oracle DB).
