Senior Staff Engineer, Data Engineering

As a highly motivated and technically deep software engineer, you will join the Global Risk Operations team in Bangalore, India. Your responsibilities will include providing technical leadership, making tech stack decisions, designing architecture, developing end-to-end solutions, deploying systems, and monitoring production performance. You will have a proven background in risk field and platform development, strong engineering skills, and excellent communication abilities. Your role will involve collaborating with various teams to deliver effective and flexible technology solutions in a dynamic environment. **Key Responsibilities:** - Challenge the status quo to drive better technical solutions for WEX's risk needs - Partner with Risk Operations Product and Compliance leaders to understand business requirements and develop technical solutions - Help build and grow a strong global risk operations engineering team - Collaborate with Data, AI, and Risk teams to leverage platforms for risk operations - Integrate risk operations platform with other products and systems - Drive technical vision and strategy for global risk operations - Provide technical guidance, training, and mentorship to engineering teams - Ensure continuous improvement and security compliance with SRE organizations **Qualifications Required:** - 10+ years of software design and development experience at scale - Proficiency in architecture design, development, deployment, and production operations - Experience in data engineering and analytics, familiarity with Airflow and DBT - Knowledge of risk engineering and cloud architecture tools such as AWS - Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, higher degree preferred As a Senior Staff Engineer at WEX, you will embody the company's values of innovation, integrity, execution, relationships, and community.
