Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Senior Software Engineer

Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code with a strong focus on the Ruby on Rails stack.
Maintain and improve existing systems in a maintenance mode environment while still delivering business-requested enhancements.
Improve support for evolving standards, including implementing support for LTI 1.3 and OIDC-based authentication.
Enable bidirectional LTI integration (as both tool and platform) for enhanced interoperability with external platforms like Career.io and Viblio.
Contribute to front-end features developed in React and Next.js when necessary.
Collaborate with the team to troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues.
Participate in architecture discussions and make thoughtful contributions to product design. •Write automated tests to ensure high code quality and stability.
Conduct code reviews and promote software engineering best practices.

Technical Skills

Required: Strong hands-on experience in Ruby on Rails.
Preferred: React, Next.js, TypeScript, GraphQL, and JavaScript.
Familiarity with LTI, OIDC, and education technology integrations is a strong plus.

Preferred candidate profile

Excellent communication skills as this role is client-facing.
Experience in building, maintaining, and deploying large-scale interactive web applications.
Strong focus on performance, security, and long-term maintainability.
Exposure to complex processes in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
Proficient in writing high-quality, value-driven test cases.
Experience in handling International clients.
Good understanding of software design principles and architecture patterns.
Familiarity with education technology standards such as LTI is an added advantage.
