Senior Solar Design Engineer

Role Overview: As a Senior Solar Design Engineer at Evergreen Solar, you will be responsible for leading the design of rooftop and ground-mounted solar PV systems. Your role will involve utilizing various software tools to create accurate system drawings, conducting site surveys, preparing technical documents, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. Additionally, you will play a key role in coordinating with internal teams, contributing to technical proposals, and staying updated with solar technology trends. Key Responsibilities: - Lead the end-to-end design of rooftop and ground-mounted solar PV systems with a focus on technical accuracy and efficiency. - Utilize AutoCAD, SketchUp, PVsyst, and STAAD to produce comprehensive system drawings, 3D layouts, simulations, and structural analysis. - Conduct site surveys, evaluate solar potential, and perform feasibility studies including load calculations and shadow analysis. - Prepare detailed system layouts, single-line diagrams (SLDs), cable schedules, and other essential technical documents. - Generate and manage accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) aligned with project requirements. - Ensure all designs adhere to national electrical codes, structural safety standards, and MNRE/IEC regulations. - Coordinate with internal teams including sales, procurement, execution, and QA/QC to ensure smooth project integration. - Contribute to the development of technical proposals, client presentations, and as-built documentation. - Stay current with solar technology trends, tools, and industry best practices. - Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and support their skill development. Qualifications Required: - Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in the solar design field (Freshers are not eligible). - Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, PVsyst, and STAAD is required. - Strong understanding of electrical and structural aspects of solar power systems. - Experience with site assessment, layout optimization, and load calculations. - Degree or Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, or Renewable Energy Engineering. - Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
