Job Description

The Staff Software Applications Engineer is an individual contributor, reporting to the head of the Applications Engineering organization and to the Bangalore site director. His/her primary responsibility is to support our customers and FAEs in software, IDE tools and system activities for sensor computing solutions on Android smartphone, wearable (Android Wear or RTOS based) and other IoT markets (mbed OS). Strong software problem solving ability, effective communications and positive customer service attitude are required in order to be successful in this position.

Key Result Areas

Responsible for technical support to customers and FAEs, with a focus on SW IDE tools for sensor hub solutions.
Together with FAEs, be the front-line support for handling customers issues, including replication of customers bugs, debug, reporting and acceptance by customers.
Design and implement customer features. Work with the rest of the core development team for the integration, testing and releasing of the features into general product release.
Provide GAP analysis to core team for enhancing the development road map.
Support marketing by creating and developing the demonstration platforms.

Skills Knowledge Profile

Minimum of BS with 8 years or MS with 5 years in Electronics Engineering or related major.
Working experience for driver development for at least one of the following mobile platforms: Android, Windows, Linux.
Experience of working with C/C++ IDE development tools (compiler/debuggers) for DSP processors/Micro-controller.
Good understanding of software-hardware interfaces like I2C, SPI, DMA, interrupt, etc.
Experience in debugging system, software problems.
Ability to use laboratory instruments such as debuggers, scopes, signal generators, multimeters, etc.
Good communication skills and must be able to work in team environment.
Ability to travel internationally without any restriction.

Highly Desired Experience

Hands on experience in sensor subsystems for mobile platforms.
