Senior Software Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer (SDE III) who will help us build high-impact systems from the ground up. You will work directly with the CTO, Principal Architect, and core leadership, owning architecture, design, infrastructure, and delivery. Responsibilities

• Lead Backend Development: Drive the development and maintenance of backend services, ensuring high performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Technical Leadership: Lead complex technical projects end-to-end with minimal guidance. Mentor SDE I/II engineers and elevate overall team capability
• Demonstrate Expertise: Exhibit deep knowledge in your technical discipline, setting a high standard for others to follow.
• Solution-Oriented Mindset: Proactively bring solutions to challenges, rather than just identifying problems.
• Community Engagement: Actively participate in the technology community, enhancing GoComet's reputation and helping to attract top talent to the team.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in backend development using one of Ruby, Python, or Node.js .
• Strong background in building scalable and robust backend architecture
• Strong knowledge of database management and architecture, with hands-on experience in Postgres or MongoDB.
• Experience designing and deploying applications in cloud environments such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Understanding of server-side principles and the ability to write high-quality, testable, and reusable code.
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Ability to work collaboratively in an agile development team and communicate effectively.
• BSc/MSc in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant field, or equivalent work experience.
• Experience with continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and version control systems like GIT.
• Good communication and leadership skills.
• Good at analysing and solving problems.
• Passionate about working in a start-up.
