Job Description

As a Senior Software Engineer in the Zendesk Core Services Packaging and Consumption team, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the Zendesk purchasing and usage reporting experience. Your responsibilities will include: - Collaborating with product management and engineers to design simple solutions for complex problems, from concept to deployment. - Ensuring delivery on commitments by maintaining code quality, debugging code, and following best practices in frameworks and tools. - Championing best practices and test coverage to prioritize stability and reliability in code deployment. - Actively participating in code reviews, design discussions, and partnering across all stages of the software development lifecycle. - Working across teams to standardize and integrate services, libraries, tools, and workflows. Qualifications required for this role: - 4+ years of relevant experience in Ruby and 3+ years of experience with JavaScript, React. - Proficiency in JavaScript build infrastructure/tooling, databases like MySQL and/or DynamoDB, CI/CD systems, API design, and distributed systems. - Experience with log aggregation tools like Datadog, a customer-first mentality in incident management, and a hunger for learning new technologies. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a team-first collaborative attitude in an agile development environment. Bonus Skills: - Experience working on SaaS-based products and familiarity with AWS stack (Aurora RDS). Please note that this role requires candidates to be physically located and work from Karnataka or Maharashtra. The hybrid work experience offers a mix of onsite collaboration and remote work flexibility, with in-office schedules determined by the hiring manager.
