As a Senior Software Engineer Endur, this is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced energy trading Developer looking to expand their knowledge and be part of a strategic programme that will revolutionise the business. You will be working on a Greenfield, cloud-hosted Endur implementation, playing a key role in delivery from design through build to implementation and beyond.

You will bring your expertise to the team, working hand-in-hand with dedicated business SMEs to drive the requirements and design for Shells strategic ETRM solution. Through a combination of focused Endur training and collaboration with existing specialists, youll have the opportunity to build your knowledge in this leading ETRM system. As a Developer, you will work alongside a team of highly skilled professionals who have pooled decades of experience from multiple Endur implementations to redefine best practices. Additionally, the expansive reach of this programme will allow you to deepen your end-to-end trading lifecycle experience and expand your knowledge into new commodities.

What youll be doing

• Collaborate with the Development Lead, business stakeholders, and IT teams to support the full project lifecycle from scoping and requirements gathering to development, testing, and user acceptance.
• Translate functional requirements into scalable technical designs and develop robust solutions through effective coding.
• Work closely with Business Analysts to refine requirements and ensure alignment with business needs.
• Diagnose and resolve critical issues in production environments, ensuring stability and performance of business-critical applications.
• Mentor and coach junior developers, fostering growth and knowledge sharing within the team.
• Drive innovation by proposing creative solutions to complex challenges and identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, keeping them informed and managing expectations throughout the development process.

What you bring

• 9-12 years of overall IT Development experience, including at least 7 years of hands-on Endur development.
• Strong domain experience in energy trading markets, particularly European Gas covering gas networks, balancing, scheduling, capacity, transportation, pricing, position, P&L, and exposure management.
• Solid understanding of different trading instruments, including: (1) OTC transactions Including forwards, storage, swing deals, swaps, and simple options and (2) Exchange traded futures & options lifecycle including cascading
• Proven experience delivering solutions across the end-to-end project lifecycle.
• Proficiency in Core Java programming, with strong skills in design patterns, SOLID principles, JUnit, and test-driven development.
• Good working knowledge of SQL and database interactions.
• Demonstrated ability to develop solutions for complex business problems and support user acceptance testing.
• Experience in building end-to-end solutions in Agile environments.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and manage expectations.
• Experience working in Agile project delivery
• Familiarity with Azure Cloud and CI/CD pipelines using GitHub (preferred).
• ETRM/CTRM experience is highly desirable, though candidates with strong energy trading application backgrounds will also be considered.
• Exposure to Endur plugin development using JVS (Java Scripting OpenLink Endur) and OC (Open Components) is a plus.
• Willingness to grow Endur expertise through structured training and collaboration within a high-performing team.
