Senior Software Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, test, and maintain Java-based applications, focusing on performance, security, and scalability.

•  Build and work with RESTful APIs / microservices architectures.

•  Collaborate with product, QA, and frontend teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

•  Write clean, modular, and well-documented code. Participate in code reviews to ensure quality and best practices.

•  Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues; do root-cause analysis.

•  Optimize SQL queries, manage database interactions, and work with both relational and optionally NoSQL databases.

•  Participate in CI/CD pipelines, deployments, automated testing, and maintain the development workflow.

•  Keep up with emerging technologies, tools, and frameworks; suggest and adopt improvements.

•  Mentor or coach junior developers (if applicable).

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.
• 3-5 years of strong experience in Core Java (Java 8 or later).
• Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), design patterns, and clean code principles.
• Experience using frameworks like Spring, Spring Boot; experience with Hibernate / JPA or equivalent.
• Good knowledge of RESTful API development.
• Experience working with relational databases (e.g. MySQL, PostgreSQL) and writing optimized SQL.
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g. Git).
• Unit testing experience (JUnit, Mockito etc.).

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

• Exposure to microservices architecture.
• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Familiarity with containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra etc.).
• Basic knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD tooling.
• Working knowledge of frontend technologies (if full-stack style) or integration points.
• Good communication, teamwork skills; ability to work in agile environments.
