Job Description

The Senior Resident in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology plays a crucial role in maintaining the quality standards of patient care within the organization. Your responsibilities include accompanying Consultant doctors on IPD wards visits, conducting medical procedures under supervision, ensuring complete and accurate documentation of patient files, authorizing diagnostic requisition slips, and providing emergency medicines in the Ward. Monitoring nursing care, timely recording of vitals, attending to emergencies, and communicating with consultant doctors for further actions are also part of your duties. You will be responsible for providing information to patient attendants, checking and maintaining diet charts, medicine charts, and vitals charts, as well as coordinating with nursing/Paramedical & non-medical staff to uphold high medical care standards. Furthermore, your role involves providing care to women during prenatal, natal, and postnatal periods, diagnosing, treating, and monitoring various conditions, conducting routine check-up appointments, and documenting physical examinations and histories. You are expected to develop a differential diagnosis, create and modify daily plans of care, write progress notes, obtain informed consent, prepare discharge summaries, and ensure compliance with Hospital policies and quality standards (NABH). Additionally, you must report any occupational or environmental issues to the HOD and fulfill any other responsibilities assigned by the management. Your performance will be evaluated based on your handling of patients, patient satisfaction levels, updating and maintaining medical record documents, and reporting occupational & environmental issues to the HOD. The minimum qualifications required for this role include an MBBS degree with MD/MS/DNB in Obstetrics & Gynecology, along with 0-3 years of experience. Technical skills such as analytical skills, equipment knowledge, good interpersonal skills, and knowledge of medical quality delivery systems are essential. Behavioral skills like problem-solving, decision-making, and functional expertise are also crucial. Proficiency in English and Hindi languages is necessary for effective communication. Key internal contacts for this role include Consultants, Medical Superintendent, Centre Head, FO/Nurses/Technicians & Support Staff, while key external contacts involve In-Patients & Attendants and Out-Patients & Attendants.
