Role Overview: As a Senior Reconciliation Analyst, you will be a crucial member of the team responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records. Your role will involve overseeing complex account reconciliations, resolving discrepancies, mentoring junior and mid-level analysts, and driving process improvements in reconciliation processes. You will need to demonstrate strong analytical skills, leadership abilities, and a commitment to maintaining compliance with internal controls and regulatory standards while enhancing operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities: - Perform and oversee complex reconciliations of financial accounts, ensuring accuracy and meeting deadlines. - Investigate and resolve high-level discrepancies, escalating critical issues to management when necessary. - Review and approve reconciliation reports prepared by junior and mid-level analysts. - Act as a subject matter expert, providing technical guidance and support to the reconciliation team. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address reconciliation challenges and implement solutions. - Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance reconciliation efficiency and accuracy. - Develop, document, and enforce best practices for reconciliation processes. - Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and external regulatory requirements. - Prepare and present reconciliation summaries and recommendations to senior management. - Mentor and train junior and mid-level staff, fostering professional development within the team. - Monitor aged items and work promptly to resolve them to ensure compliance with organizational policies. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master's degree preferred). - 8+ years of experience in account reconciliation, financial analysis, or a similar role. - Proven track record of handling complex reconciliations and leading process improvement initiatives. - Advanced proficiency in Excel, including macros, pivot tables, and advanced formulas. - Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and reconciliation tools. - Strong knowledge of accounting standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS) and financial reporting. - Exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities with keen attention to detail. - Strong organizational and time-management skills to effectively manage multiple priorities. - Excellent communication skills to present findings and recommendations to stakeholders. - Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and build strong relationships. - Leadership skills with experience mentoring and guiding team members.
