Senior R&D Scientist/Manager

Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior R&D Scientist / Manager with strong expertise in adhesives, sealants, or specialty chemicals. The selected individual will lead new product development, enhance existing formulations, and collaborate across teams to deliver innovative, reliable, and high-performance solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Product Development & Innovation

• Develop and optimize adhesive & sealant formulations (anaerobic, cyanoacrylate, epoxies, silicones, acrylics, etc.).
• Drive R&D projects from concept to commercialization, ensuring compliance with performance, safety, and environmental standards.
• Monitor market trends, technologies, and raw material innovations to build a differentiated product pipeline.

Technical Leadership

• Mentor and guide junior chemists/engineers within the R&D team.
• Establish robust testing protocols in line with ASTM, ISO, and customer-specific requirements.
• Engage with customers to understand applications and provide customized technical solutions

Cross-functional Collaboration

• Partner with production teams to scale lab formulations into commercial manufacturing.
• Support quality and technical service teams in addressing customer or field issues.
• Collaborate with regulatory/compliance teams to meet RoHS, REACH, and sustainability standards.

Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain accurate documentation of experiments, formulations, and trial outcomes.
• Ensure IP protection (patents, trade secrets) for new and innovative products.
• Prepare technical reports, datasheets, and presentations for internal teams and customers.

Qualifications & Experience

• Masters / PhD in Polymer Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
• 615 years of relevant experience in adhesives, sealants, coatings, or specialty chemicals.
• Strong knowledge of raw materials: resins, curing agents, accelerators, fillers, additives.
• Hands-on expertise in application-specific testing (shear, peel, lap shear, viscosity, thermal stability, aging).
• Proven experience in scaling formulations from lab to plant.
• Track record of successful product launches and customer-focused solutions.
