Senior Quality Engineer

Role & responsibilities

1. In-Process Quality Control (IPQC):

• Monitor and control quality during production.
  
• Conduct line inspections, process audits, and verify compliance with control plans.
  
• Ensure defect prevention rather than defect detection.
  

2. Quality Control (QC):

• Inspect raw materials, in-process, and finished products.
  
• Implement sampling plans and acceptance criteria.
  
• Maintain documentation of inspection results and non-conformities.
  

3. Statistical Process Control (SPC):

• Collect and analyze process data using control charts.
  
• Identify trends, variations, and potential risks in manufacturing processes.
  
• Drive corrective actions to keep processes under statistical control.
  

4. Measurement System Analysis (MSA):

• Conduct Gage R&R studies and calibrations to validate measurement systems.
  
• Ensure measurement accuracy, repeatability, and reproducibility.
  
• Eliminate errors caused by ineffective measuring instruments.
  

5. Root Cause Analysis (RCA):

• Perform structured investigations for process and product issues.
  
• Apply tools like Fishbone, 5-Why, and Fault Tree Analysis.
  
• Document root causes and corrective/preventive actions.
  

6. Why-Why Analysis:

• Use the Why-Why” methodology to drill down problem causes.
  
• Simplify problem-solving for repetitive or recurring issues.
  
• Ensure corrective actions address the true root cause.
  

7. 8D Analysis:

• Lead 8D teams for critical quality issues and customer complaints.
  
• Implement permanent corrective actions and preventive measures.
  
• Prepare and present 8D reports to management and customers.
  

8. Process Control & Improvement:

• Develop and maintain process control plans, PFMEA, and work instructions.
  
• Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures.
  
• Lead continuous improvement projects to enhance process capability and reduce defects.
