Overview
As a Senior Software Engineer at Mastercard, you will be responsible for designing and developing scalable, secure, and high-performance applications using Python and Django. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to front-end development using modern frameworks like Angular or React. This role requires strong technical leadership, mentoring capabilities, and a collaborative mindset to work across global teams.Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Python and Django frameworks. Build and integrate RESTful APIs and microservices aligned with Mastercards architecture standards. Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements using Angular, React, or similar frameworks. Ensure code quality through unit testing, code reviews, and adherence to secure coding practices. Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning, estimation, and retrospectives. Drive CI/CD adoption and automate deployment pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar. Monitor application performance and troubleshoot production issues using tools like Splunk, Dynatrace, or Cloud Foundry. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
All About You
6-9 years of overall career experience Understanding of software engineering concepts and methodologies Extensive experience developing secure, web-based applications in Python and Django frameworks Experience with front-end technologies such as Angular, React, HTML5, CSS3, and TypeScript is a plus. Solid understanding of RESTful API design, microservices architecture, and cloud-native development. Experience of cloud deployment patterns, tools, and operational best practices (e.g. Cloud Foundry, Dynatrace, Splunk) Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. High-energy, detail-oriented, proactive, and able to handle multiple high-priority demands while driving consistent results. Collaborative, communicative and engaged with team discussions, asking questions, mentoring juniors, and raising standards.
