Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Python Developer with strong expertise in data engineering and ETL frameworks to join our team on a 6-month Contract-to-Hire engagement. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience building production-grade Python applications, scalable data pipelines, and backend systems that support high-throughput data processing.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain production-grade Python applications
• Build and optimize data ingestion, transformation, and ETL/ELT pipelines
• Work with workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow, Prefect, or Luigi
• Develop and support distributed systems, microservices, and APIs
• Build and manage streaming and high-throughput data pipelines
• Implement and integrate vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, pgvector, Qdrant)
• Contribute to RAG pipeline components, including embeddings and retrieval layers
• Use Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration
• Collaborate with cross-functional and globally distributed teams

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 6–8 years of experience as a Python Developer / Data Engineer
• Strong hands-on expertise in Python (production-level development)
• Solid experience in data engineering and backend development
• Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT frameworks (Airflow, Prefect, Luigi)
• Experience in data ingestion and transformation workflows
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, microservices, and APIs
• Experience with streaming and high-throughput data pipelines
• Hands-on experience with vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, pgvector, Qdrant)
• Understanding of RAG pipelines (embedding, retrieval)
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes

Working Hours

• 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM IST
• Flexibility required, with up to 4 hours overlap with US time zones
