Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities:

Project planning and strategy

  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, objectives, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Define project strategy and set deadlines to ensure objectives are met.
  • Create project documents such as risk mitigation and quality plans.

Project execution and management

  • Lead, motivate, and manage the project team to ensure cohesive and efficient work.
  • Oversee the day-to-day execution of the project from conception to completion.
  • Ensure the project stays on schedule and within the defined budget.
  • Manage resource allocation, including personnel, equipment, and materials.
  • Handle contract management and project change orders.

Quality, safety, and compliance

  • Set and maintain quality standards, conducting regular checks to ensure compliance with best practices.
  • Oversee health and safety standards and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Coordinate site readiness, including land acquisition and utility shifting, and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.

Communication and stakeholder management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact, establishing and maintaining clear communication with clients, team members, and senior leadership.
  • Provide regular project status updates and manage expectations effectively.
  • Coordinate with various stakeholders, including subcontractors and engineers.

Risk and issue management

  • Identify potential project risks and develop effective mitigation strategies.
  • Quickly identify and address project-related issues and obstacles as they arise.
  • Perform risk analysis and produce reports.

Reporting and project closure

  • Monitor project progress and performance.
  • Track project metrics and KPIs.
  • Ensure a smooth project closure process, including client acceptance, documentation, and knowledge transfer.

Preferred candidate profile

Education and Experience

  • Education:

    A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is typically required.
  • Experience:

    • Minimum of 8-10+ years of experience in project management, specifically within the waterproofing, roofing, or construction chemicals industry.
    • Direct experience with hi-rise residential, industrial, or infrastructure projects (e.g., tanks, reservoirs, STP facilities) is often preferred.
    • Proven experience in managing complex projects, budgets, timelines, and multiple stakeholders.
  • Certifications:

    A Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or similar accreditation is often preferred.

Technical Knowledge

  • Materials and Applications:

    Strong understanding of various waterproofing and coating materials and their application procedures (e.g., polyurea, PU, epoxy, cementitious, PMM).
  • Construction Processes:

    Knowledge of construction materials, structural rehabilitation techniques, surface preparation, and quality control (QA/QC) standards.
  • Documentation and Software:

    Proficiency in project management tools, MS Office (Excel, Project), and the ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and use basic AutoCAD.
  • Safety and Quality:

    Familiarity with site safety protocols (EHS compliance) and the ability to conduct and interpret quality tests and reports.

    Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities, with experience in identifying and mitigating project risks.
  • Organization:

    Excellent project management skills, including prioritization, scheduling, documentation, and the ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently.
  • Work Ethic:

    A self-motivated individual with a strong work ethic and a positive, "can-do" attitude.
