Job Purpose

The Senior Product Manager at Nielsen is an essential catalyst for innovation within the audience measurement landscape. In this role you will oversee the entire product lifecycle including validating product-market fit, executing the product vision, and leading cross-functional teams to deliver products that delight our customers. The Senior Product Manager will partner with business teams, engineers, technologists, data scientists, and other cross-functional teams to deliver software solutions for Nielsen s Audio measurement service. In addition to the software product requirements management, this individual will be responsible for the user story backlog and will be accountable for requirements decomposition and authoring of acceptance criteria for software.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Author user stories, acceptance criteria, and software requirements documentation.
  • Maintain a prioritized backlog that aligns with available engineering capacity and maps to an overall solution roadmap.
  • Identify and mitigate blockers, risks, issues, and dependencies that may impact project delivery and escalate to the appropriate stakeholders.
  • Manage scope and drive trade-off decisions.
  • Coordinate the creation of release management documentation, follow change management procedures, and review post-deployment KPIs
  • Serve as a high-availability resource for answering questions posed by engineers, Data Scientists, and key stakeholders.
  • Lead the planning and execution of projects from initiation to closure, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of Nielsen s Audio products and their short and long term product strategy.
  • Set and track ROI goals for each product, ensuring they deliver value and align with broader business objectivesQualifications

Minimum Qualifications/ Requirements:

  • A bachelors or masters degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field is often preferred.
  • 5-7 years experience in product management or a similar discipline.
  • Extensive experience practicing, applying, and coaching others on Agile development principles.
  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with the ability to present effectively to upper management.
  • Experience with Atlassian Jira and Confluence tools.
  • Experience with backend processing systems.
  • Experience in serving multiple products with a single system and scrum team.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional certifications in Product Management, Agile methodologies, or related areas can be advantageous.
  • Prior experience in Audience Measurement / Media industry is a plus.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Familiarity with cloud product architecture, and general software engineering practices preferred.
  • Familiarity with statistical modeling /machine learning techniques preferred.
