Senior Procurement Manager -Civil

Job Summary:

The Senior Manager Procurement (Civil) will be responsible for leading and managing all procurement activities related to civil construction projects. This role involves strategic sourcing, vendor management, tendering, and cost optimization to ensure timely availability of quality materials and services while maintaining budgetary control.

Experience : 12 - 15 years

Salary : INR 1,580,000 - 2,000,000/year

Location : Chennai, India

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement procurement strategies for civil materials, works, and services in alignment with project requirements.
• Review BOQs, specifications, and drawings to assess material needs and procurement timelines.
• Float enquiries, evaluate bids, conduct techno-commercial comparisons, and finalize purchase/work orders.
• Negotiate rates, contracts, and payment terms with suppliers and contractors to achieve optimal cost savings.
• Establish and maintain a strong vendor network to ensure competitive sourcing and reliability.
• Coordinate with project, engineering, planning, and finance teams for smooth procurement operations.
• Monitor market trends, pricing fluctuations, and material availability to support effective planning.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and statutory requirements.
• Lead and mentor the procurement team, ensuring high performance and process efficiency.
• Prepare and maintain accurate procurement reports, MIS, and vendor performance evaluations.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering.
• 1215 years of experience in procurement and contracting within civil/construction projects.
• Proven expertise in vendor development, tendering, and contract management.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and leadership skills.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP / Oracle / etc.) and MS Office tools.
• Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
