Senior Plumbing Engineer -BIM

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Plumbing Engineer BIM with 6+ years of industry experience to lead the implementation of Building Information Modeling (BIM) for plumbing systems across design and construction projects. The ideal candidate will specialize in single stack, double stack, fire protection, water supply, and drainage systems, ensuring technical excellence, stakeholder coordination, and timely delivery of complex projectsincluding high-rise buildings and healthcare facilitiesprimarily for US-based clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Leadership: Lead BIM project deliveries for plumbing systems, ensuring high-quality outcomes and resolving issues in coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
• BIM Modeling and Design: Develop and maintain 3D plumbing models using BIM software (e.g., Revit MEP, AutoCAD MEP, Navisworks, BIM 360) for water supply, drainage, sewage, gas piping, and fire protection systems.
• Ownership of Service Delivery: Take full ownership of BIM service delivery for plumbing systems, adhering to scope, schedule, and quality expectations.
• Collaboration: Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, and contractors to integrate plumbing systems into a unified BIM model.
• Project Coordination: Oversee BIM execution plans, model setup, and documentation workflows for plumbing systems, ensuring alignment with client requirements.
• Quality Assurance: Conduct regular model audits and quality checks to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with US and global standards.
• Clash Detection: Perform clash detection and resolution for plumbing systems using Navisworks or similar tools to prevent on-site conflicts.
• Workflow Optimization: Innovate and implement BIM processes to improve efficiency in plumbing design, construction, and facilities management.
• Documentation: Manage plumbing system documentation, including construction drawings, isometric diagrams, riser diagrams, and schedules.
• Client Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for US clients, ensuring deliverables meet their expectations and standards.
• Estimation Support: Provide accurate quantity take-offs and cost estimates using detailed BIM models.
• Technical Excellence: Ensure designs comply with plumbing codes (IPC, UPC, NFPA) and industry best practices.
• Team Collaboration: Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams to foster a productive work environment.
• Project Management: Assist in task allocation, progress tracking, and team coordination for plumbing BIM projects.
• Training and Development: Train junior staff on BIM tools and plumbing system modeling to enhance team capabilities.
• Technology Adoption: Stay updated with emerging BIM technologies and integrate them to improve plumbing design and project outcomes.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor's/Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Plumbing Engineering, or a related field.
• 6+ years of hands-on experience in BIM modeling and coordination for plumbing systems (water supply, drainage, fire protection, etc.).
• 2+ years of experience working with US clients is mandatory.
• Project Experience: Proven track record in high-rise buildings, healthcare facilities, or large-scale commercial projects.
• BIM Software Proficiency: Advanced skills in Revit MEP, AutoCAD MEP, Navisworks, BIM 360, and familiarity with Scan to BIM workflows.
• Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of plumbing systems, construction documentation, and equipment detailing.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve design and coordination issues proactively.
• Communication: Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills for teamwork and client interactions.
• Attention to Detail: Commitment to precision in fast-paced project environments.
• Standards Compliance: Knowledge of US plumbing codes (e.g., IPC, UPC, NFPA) is essential.
