Senior Performance Test Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Performance Testing Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and executing performance tests to identify and resolve performance issues in our software applications. The candidate should have a strong background in performance testing methodologies, tools, and techniques, along with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop performance test strategies and plans based on project requirements and specifications.
• Design and implement performance test scenarios and scripts using industry-standard tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, or similar.
• Execute performance tests across various environments including development, testing, staging, and production.
• Analyze performance test results to identify performance bottlenecks, memory leaks, and other performance-related issues.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to troubleshoot and resolve performance issues.
• Provide recommendations for optimizing application performance based on test results.
• Automate performance testing processes to improve efficiency and reliability.
• Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in performance testing and recommend improvements to existing processes and methodologies.
• Document performance test plans, test cases, and results for reference and future use.

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 3-6 years of experience in performance testing of web-based and mobile applications.
• Proficiency in performance testing tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, Gatling, or similar.
• Strong understanding of performance testing methodologies, best practices, and techniques.
• Experience in analyzing performance metrics and identifying performance bottlenecks.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Good understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Relevant certifications such as ISTQB Certified Tester – Foundation Level, Performance Testing Certification, etc., are a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Knowledge of monitoring tools such as New Relic, AppDynamics, or similar.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python, Shell, or PowerShell.
