Job Description

  • Conducting Eye Examinations
  • Perform comprehensive eye exams to evaluate patients' vision and detect eye diseases.
  • Use specialized equipment and techniques to test visual acuity, depth perception, and the ability to focus and coordinate the eyes.
  • Diagnosing Vision Problems and Eye Diseases
  • Diagnose conditions such as nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism, presbyopia, and eye diseases like glaucoma, cataracts, and macular degeneration.
  • Use diagnostic instruments and procedures, such as retinoscopes, phoropters, and biomicroscopes.
  • Prescribing Corrective Lenses
  • Prescribe eyeglasses, contact lenses, and other visual aids based on the results of eye examinations.
  • Provide fittings for contact lenses and educate patients on their use and care.
  • Recommending and Providing Treatment
  • Develop treatment plans for patients with visual issues or eye health problems.
  • Prescribe medications for specific eye conditions.
  • Provide pre- and post-operative care for patients undergoing eye surgery.
  • Patient Education
  • Educate patients about eye health, preventive care, and the use of corrective lenses.
  • Offer advice on how to prevent or manage eye conditions through lifestyle changes and proper eye care practices.
  • Collaborating with Other Healthcare Professionals
  • Work closely with ophthalmologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care.
  • Refer patients to ophthalmologists or other specialists when advanced care is needed.
  • Maintaining Patient Records
  • Keep detailed and accurate patient records, including examination results, diagnoses, and treatment plans.
  • Ensure confidentiality and compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
  • Staying Current with Developments in Eye Care
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest advancements in optometry and eye care.
  • Participate in continuing education opportunities and professional development activities.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹156,000.00 - ₹240,000.00 per year
