Senior Optimization Engineer

This Position reports to:

In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute significantly to successful project results in technology, software, product, and/or solution development, as well as associated Intellectual Property (IP). Each day, you will act as the first point of contact in Research and Development for specific product-related issues and maintenance. You will also showcase your expertise by identifying, proposing, and implementing innovative solutions.

This role is contributing to the Process Automation of Process Industry Business in Bangalore Location.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Responsible for developing optimization modeling frameworks, performing mathematical modeling of real generation units, and supporting project teams with general modeling inquiries
• Should have a strong understanding of mathematical modeling, linear optimization techniques, and a basic knowledge of physical modeling. Knowledge of power generation particularly in backpressure or condensing power plants
• Responsible for design, and implementation of software solutions within PI Digital Business Line for global process industries.

• Bachelors / Masters Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, MCA, Software Engineering, or related technical field with overall experience of 3-8 years.
• Should also have experience with at least one major programming language, such as C# or Python. Familiarity with mathematical programming languages such as GAMS or AMPL, or modelling Python/Julia libraries like Pyomo or JuMP, is also considered beneficial.
• Proficient in Control Theory, Model Identification and Optimization algorithms (both linear and non-linear).
• Deep knowledge of Object-oriented programming and Design patterns & principles.
• Timeseries database experience is beneficial.
