Job Description

Senior Network Engineer

Experience Required:

5 6 Years

Location:

Karvenagar, Pune | On-site

Job Summary:

Senior Network Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

Design, deploy, and manage LAN, WAN, wireless, and cloud-based network solutions.
Maintain and monitor network performance, availability, and reliability.
Implement and support firewalls, routers, switches, and VPNs (e.g., Cisco, Fortinet, Juniper, etc.).
Perform root cause analysis and resolve complex Layer 2/3 issues.
Collaborate with cross-functional IT and cybersecurity teams on infrastructure upgrades and incident response.
Maintain network documentation, diagrams, and SOPs.
Plan for network scalability and future upgrades.
Ensure network security through configuration audits, firmware updates, and patch management.
Lead network optimization and automation initiatives where applicable (Ansible, Python scripting, etc.).

Required Skills & Experience:

5 6 years of experience in network engineering roles.
Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP), VLANs, and subnetting.
Hands-on experience with enterprise-level network hardware (Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, etc.).
Proficiency in firewall management, VPN configuration, and load balancer administration.
Familiarity with network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, PRTG, Wireshark, etc.).
Strong troubleshooting and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Certifications:
CCNP, Fortinet NSE4+, Juniper JNCIS
, or similar.
Experience with cloud networking (AWS/GCP/Azure).
Exposure to SD-WAN, Zero Trust Networks, or NAC solutions.
Knowledge of automation and scripting (Python, Bash, Ansible).

Soft Skills:

Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to lead projects and mentor junior engineers.
Comfortable in high-pressure, SLA-driven environments.
