As a Fire Safety Engineer at Mott MacDonald, you will play a crucial role in developing fire safety strategies across various sectors of buildings and infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include reviewing designs against current codes of practice, analyzing and designing solutions, including bespoke performance-based fire engineering solutions. You will also be involved in undertaking formal peer reviews of fire engineering work and collaborating with internal/external technical disciplines to provide project-specific advice. Ensuring timely delivery of work within budget and maintaining high-quality standards will be essential aspects of your role. Qualifications Required: - Hold a degree in a relevant engineering or science discipline - Possess a minimum of 10 years of experience with fire/smoke modeling tools such as computational fluid dynamics (CFD), zone models, and evacuation models (advantageous) - Demonstrated experience in developing fire strategies according to UK and international codes of practice - Working knowledge and experience with performance-based fire engineering codes of practice in the UK and internationally (e.g., BS 7974, NFPA 101) - Familiarity with international codes such as British Standards, NFPA, IBC, etc. - Effective communication skills in English for interactions with clients, colleagues, and project team members - Proficiency in English report writing Additionally, Mott MacDonald offers a supportive work environment that promotes work-life balance and career flexibility.
