Senior Manager/Manager - SMS Mechanical (Pump House, Compressor, FES)

Role Objective:

Pump House, Compressor, and Fume Extraction System (FES)

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, organize, and monitor maintenance activities for Pump House, Compressors, and FES systems.
  
• Lead preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance activities to minimize downtime.
  
• Ensure implementation of condition monitoring, reliability engineering practices, and root cause analysis for recurring issues.
  
• Prepare and monitor annual maintenance budget, spare planning, and inventory control.
  
• Coordinate with operations, projects, and other departments for smooth functioning of SMS equipment.
  
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives for equipment performance, energy efficiency, and cost optimization.
  
• Ensure strict adherence to

  safety standards, statutory compliance, and environmental norms

• Manage and develop the mechanical maintenance team through training, skill enhancement, and performance management.
  
• Prepare MIS, reports, and present performance analysis to senior management.
  
• Lead CAPEX/OPEX planning for Pump House, Compressor, and FES maintenance activities.
  

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Strong technical knowledge in

  mechanical maintenance of Pump House, Compressor, and Fume Extraction System (FES)

  in a steel plant SMS.
• Expertise in hydraulics, pneumatics, lubrication systems, and utilities.
  
• Proficiency in maintenance management systems (SAP / CMMS preferred).
  
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  
• Knowledge of TPM, RCA, and predictive maintenance tools.
  
• Safety-first mindset with strong understanding of statutory & compliance requirements.

Qualifications & Experience:

• B.E./B.Tech – Mechanical Engineering

• Minimum

  10–15 years of experience

  in mechanical maintenance, with at least 3–5 years in SMS (Pump House, Compressor, FES).
• Experience in handling large teams and leading maintenance functions at the Manager/Sr. Manager level.
