Senior Manager - Warehouse Operations

1. Strategic Leadership & Business Management
Provide overall leadership to the CFS unit ensuring smooth, safe, and efficient day-to-day operations.Develop and implement business strategies aligned with organizational goals to drive growth and profitability.Prepare and monitor annual budgets, cost controls, and revenue targets.2. Operational ExcellenceOversee and manage the end-to-end container handling process including receipt, storage, stuffing/de-stuffing, and dispatch.Ensure compliance with customs regulations, port procedures, and standard operating procedures.Drive process improvements, reduce turnaround time (TAT), and improve asset utilization.3. Team Management & DevelopmentLead, mentor, and manage cross-functional teams including marketing, operations, billing documentation, commercial, and admin s taff.Set clear performance expectations, conduct periodic reviews, and facilitate training and development initiatives.Foster a collaborative and safety-first culture.4. Customer Relationship ManagementBuild and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including shipping lines, CHAs, transporters, and regulatory bodi es.Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by resolving service issues promptly and offering customized logistics solutions.5. Compliance, Safety & Regulatory AffairsEnsure full compliance with local laws, customs regulations, labour codes, and health/safety/environment (HSE) standards.Liaise with Customs, Port Trusts, and other regulatory agencies for smooth functioning and clearances.6. Commercial & Financial OversightOversee billing, collections, and debtor management to ensure healthy cash flow.Monitor commercial agreements, contracts, and service level agreements (SLAs) for efficiency and profitability.Conduct periodic market analysis and competitor benchmarking.7. Asset & Infrastructure ManagementEnsure optimal maintenance and uptime of handling equipment such as reach stackers, forklifts, trailers, etc.Oversee infrastructure upkeep including warehouses, yards, security systems, and IT systems.8. Business Development & Client AcquisitionIdentify and pursue new business opportunities including onboarding of new customers and volume diversification (import/export).Work closely with corporate sales and marketing teams to expand the units customer base.9. MIS, Reporting & ReviewsReview operational KPIs, volume trends, cost indicators, and prepare regular dashboards and reports for senior management.Take proactive corrective actions based on performance analysis and feedback.10. Technology & Digital InitiativesDrive digital transformation at the unit level including adoption of EDI integration, and automation tools.Encourage data-driven decision making and leverage analytics for performance optimization.11. New Projects & Initiatives of SBU (LI)Manage and handle end-to-end new business projects and initiatives, identifying opportunities, doing feasibility studies, proje ct planning and coordination with internal teams & external stakeholders.
