Role Overview: The Testing Squad Manager will lead a team of testing professionals in the development, execution, and optimization of testing strategies. This role involves coordinating testing activities across multiple projects, ensuring compliance with international regulatory requirements, and fostering a culture of quality within the organization. What will you do in this role: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of testing professionals (Testing automation, execution, architecture, coordination engineers). Set clear priorities for the team, conduct performance reviews, coach, mentor and provide feedback. Facilitate training and professional development opportunities to enhance team capabilities. Collaborate cross-functionally across Enterprise IT and other divisional Value Teams in the company, including Manufacturing, Research, Commercial Markets, to execute the appropriate levels of testing based on requirements and identified testing needs. Define testing scope, resources required, and timelines, ensuring alignment with project goals. Ensure all testing activities meet system development lifecycle (SDLC) requirements in the pharmaceutical industry. Stay updated on industry regulations and changes that may impact testing procedures. Oversee the creation and implementation of test plans, protocols, and reports. Manage the execution of various testing methodologies, including but not limited to stability testing, validation testing, and performance testing. Identify potential risks associated with testing and product quality and implement mitigation strategies. Conduct root cause analysis for any issues identified during testing and develop corrective action plans. Lead initiatives for process improvement and optimization of testing methodologies and tools. Analyze testing data and metrics to drive insights for product quality and process efficiency. Serve as the primary point of contact for testing-related inquiries from internal and external stakeholders. Prepare and present reports on testing outcomes and quality metrics to senior management. Assist in budgeting for testing activities, ensuring optimal allocation of resources. Monitor expenditures and ensure adherence to budget constraints. Drive the adoption of automation and digital tools to enhance testing efficiency and accuracy. Develop training programs for testing staff to ensure they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge. Promote a culture of learning and professional development within the team, whilst fostering collaboration, encouraging trust, and promoting a sense of unity among team members. What Should you have: Bachelor s or Master s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Engineering or related field. 5+ years of experience in application testing, quality assurance, or related fields. Proven experience in a managerial role, preferably within a multinational organization. Strong knowledge of SDLC in the pharmaceutical industry required. SAP Knowledge desired: In-depth understanding of SAP functionalities, modules, and integrations, as well as specific products like Concur, Ariba, Fieldglass, and MDG. Excellent leadership and team management skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Proficient in project management and testing methodologies. Effective communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with cross-functional teams. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities. Experience with testing tools and related applications is required: Jira X-RAY, Jira, Confluence, Solman, HP ALM, TOSCA, LiveCompare, Load runner, ServiceNow. Experience in implementing service virtualization techniques to simulate service dependencies for efficient testing in complex environments, enhancing the reliability of development and testing processes. Experience in designing and executing always-on testing strategies, ensuring continuous integration and delivery practices are maintained, and enabling real-time feedback on application performance and quality. Certifications in quality assurance, application management, project management and testing are preferred, such as: ITSQB (such as Certified Tester or Advanced Test Manager), Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Agile Tester Certification (CAT), Certified Software Tester (CSTE) or Quality Assurance and Testing (QAT), PMP, or other relevant certifications.
