As a Safety Manager in the Power/Energy industry, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a safe work environment by developing and implementing safety policies and procedures in compliance with local regulations and industry best practices. Your key responsibilities will include: - Conducting regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and risks in the workplace. - Leading the investigation of accidents and near misses, and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence. - Providing safety training to employees at all levels and ensuring awareness of safety protocols. - Collaborating with cross-functional teams to promote a safety-conscious culture across the organization. - Staying updated on industry trends and best practices to continually improve safety standards. - Preparing reports on safety performance, incidents, and compliance metrics for management review. - Acting as a liaison with regulatory agencies on safety matters and ensuring adherence to safety standards. - Mentoring and coaching junior safety personnel to build a strong safety team. In addition to the responsibilities mentioned above, the following qualifications are required for this role: Certification Required: - Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent certification preferred. Behavioural Skills: - Strong leadership abilities with the capacity to inspire and motivate teams. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Problem-solving and decision-making skills under pressure. - Attention to detail and a proactive approach to safety issues. Technical Skills: - In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and standards in the Power/Energy industry. - Proficiency in conducting risk assessments and incident investigations. - Experience with safety management systems and software. - Familiarity with emergency response planning and crisis management. Non-Negotiable Skills: - Proven experience in safety management within the Power/Energy industry. - Strong leadership and communication skills. - Certification as a Safety Professional. Qualifications: Experience: - Minimum of 12-18 years of experience in safety management within the Power/Energy industry. - Proven track record of developing and implementing safety programs and initiatives. - Experience in conducting safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments. Education Qualification: - Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field. - Master's degree in safety management or relevant discipline preferred.
