Key Responsibilities:

Business Development & Power Sales

  • Identify, target, and acquire new customers for short-term, medium-term, and long-term power sales.
  • Develop and manage a strong pipeline of industrial and commercial consumers under Open Access, Captive, Group Captive, and bilateral arrangements.
  • Lead end-to-end sales cycle: customer outreach, proposal preparation, negotiation, contracting, and closure.
  • Understand customer energy requirements and propose suitable power supply solutions.

Power Trading & Market Intelligence

  • Manage power sale transactions through exchanges (IEX, PXIL, HPX), bilateral markets, and utility tie-ups.
  • Monitor daily market prices, grid conditions, regulations, and trading opportunities to optimize revenues.
  • Coordinate with internal trading desk for scheduling, forecasting, and delivery planning.

Client Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with industrial consumers, DISCOMs, consultants, and market intermediaries.
  • Conduct periodic review meetings, resolve billing or scheduling issues, and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Manage key accounts and ensure retention of long-term customers.

Regulatory & Commercial Compliance

  • Stay updated with state and central regulations on open access, SLDC guidelines, OA charges, cross-subsidy surcharges, and power procurement policies.
  • Ensure all contracts, agreements, and transactions comply with regulatory frameworks.
  • Coordinate with legal and finance teams for contract drafting, invoicing, and payment follow-ups.

Strategy & Reporting

  • Develop annual sales plans, market expansion strategies, and revenue forecasts.
  • Track competitor activity, policy changes, and emerging opportunities in the power market.
  • Prepare regular MIS reports for management review.
