Senior Manager- Operations

As the owner of MetLife's reinsurance closing reporting for the Reinsurance business, your role involves managing the end-to-end requirements of the process. This includes representing the process with various teams such as controllers, auditors, and FMG leads to ensure the successful completion of monthly and quarterly deliverables. You will be responsible for analyzing income statements and balance sheets on a GAAP and STAT basis at different levels including treaty, legal entity, and line of business. Additionally, developing and maintaining various reports used by Reinsurance stakeholders will be a crucial part of your responsibilities. You will review and approve journal entries and wire transactions based on thorough analysis and inputs received from other departments to ensure high-quality results. Your key responsibilities will include: - Managing reinsurance treaties and ensuring the fulfillment of contractual obligations. - Reviewing monthly and quarterly settlement statements, approving journal entries, and wires after thorough review. - Conducting quarterly analytics of significant treaties to provide reasons for movement in balances. - Coordinating with various teams and departments to ensure timely and accurate reinsurance deliverables. - Addressing queries from controllers, auditors, and reinsurers. - Ensuring accuracy in maintaining CUBUS and GRDR reports. - Supporting process improvements, ongoing initiatives, and projects to streamline team procedures and task deliverables. - Leading reinsurance or corporate initiatives to enhance overall performance and productivity. - Ensuring compliance with internal controls, regulatory requirements, and audit protocols. In terms of qualifications, you are expected to have: - CA qualification, preferably in finance or accounting, with 10-12 years of industry experience. - Bachelor's degree, MBA Finance/M.Com/CA Inter with at least 12-15 years of experience. - Overall experience of 5-7 years in a similar industry and related profile. - Expertise in Accounting, Treaty administration, and knowledge of GAAP/STAT accounts and closing and reporting activities. Your knowledge and skills should include: - Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. - Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. - Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines effectively. - Proficiency in financial reporting tools such as HFM, HFM SmartView, OBIEE, Cubus/Essbase, and Peoplesoft. - Strong leadership skills with the willingness to provide honest feedback. - Sound knowledge of STAT and GAAP accounting & reporting.
