Job Summary:
The Inventory Manager will be responsible for overseeing the companys inventory management processes, ensuring optimal inventory levels, and implementing strategies to reduce aging inventory. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inventory Management:
- Oversee daily inventory operations, including receiving, stocking, and distributing products.
- Monitor inventory levels to ensure optimal stock levels are maintained, preventing shortages or excess.
- Aging Inventory Reduction:
- Analyse inventory data to identify slow-moving and aging products.
- Develop and implement strategies to minimize aging inventory, including discount promotions, product bundling, or return-to-vendor initiatives.
- Forecasting & Planning:
- Collaborate with the sales and procurement teams align inventory strategies accordingly.
- Use inventory management software to track inventory movements and trends.
- Reporting & Analysis:
- Prepare regular reports on inventory performance metrics, including turnover rates, aging analysis, and stock accuracy.
- Identify and report on issues related to inventory discrepancies and propose solutions.
- Process Improvement:
- Continuously evaluate and improve inventory management processes and procedures.
- Implement best practices for inventory control and management across the organization.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with the Sales Planning, procurement, and sales teams to ensure seamless inventory flow.
- Train and mentor inventory staff on best practices in inventory management.
Qualifications:
- BTech or BE / masters degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an Inventory Manager or in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or retail environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of Lean principles and practices.
- Experience with ERP systems. (SAP)
- Familiarity with inventory forecasting techniques
