Senior Manager (L5) - Plant Quality (Powertrain)

As a Sr. Manager Operations Quality at Tata Motors, your role will involve overseeing the engine assembly quality assurance, resolving quality issues related to engines, and managing the daily operations of the engine shop. You will be responsible for analyzing engine shop quality gate data, taking necessary actions to reduce reported issues, and addressing customer issues from TCF and field related to engine performance. Additionally, you will be handling test bed operations to evaluate engine performance parameters on an audit basis and coordinating with various stakeholders for issue resolution. Key Responsibilities: - Ensure quality assurance in engine assembly - Resolve quality issues related to engines - Manage daily operations of the engine shop - Analyze engine shop quality gate data and take necessary actions to reduce reported issues - Resolve customer issues related to engine performance - Handle test bed operations for evaluating engine performance parameters - Coordinate with stakeholders for issue resolution - Conduct rejection analysis and system booking - Implement process control through SPC - Drive CTQ parts and process audits in engine assembly area - Maintain documentation and records as per TS16949 approach - Adhere to SQDCME targets - Develop manpower and enhance skills Qualifications Required: - BE in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering - Basic knowledge of powertrain and assembly processes - Familiarity with engine testing and measuring instruments - Understanding of drawings and quality documents like PFMEA and Control Plan In addition to the technical competencies, you are expected to demonstrate Tata Leadership Practices such as Customer Focus, Functional Excellence, Interpersonal Effectiveness, Effective team building, and mobility for supplier visits, dealer visits, or other Tata Motors plants.
