Senior Manager - Engineering

What You''ll Do

• Lead and Inspire: Manage a team of talented engineers, fostering a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement
• Architect and Innovate: Drive the technical roadmap for our checkout and payments systems, making critical decisions on architecture and design to ensure performance, reliability, and security
• Ensure Reliability: Take ownership of the core transactions funnel, monitoring performance, and leading incident response to maintain high-uptime and a seamless user experience
• Collaborate and Strategize: Partner with product managers and other engineering leaders to define project scope, prioritize features, and deliver impactful solutions that meet business goals

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong Technical Acumen:7+ years of hands-on experience in Java development
• Deep expertise in backend engineering, including designing and building highly scalable, distributed systems
• Proficiency with MySQL or other relational databases, with a strong understanding of database design, optimization, and query performance
• Leadership Experience:Proven experience in a leadership role, managing and mentoring a team of engineers
• Experience with the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), including agile methodologies, CI/CD, and DevOps principles
• Problem-Solving:A track record of solving complex technical problems and a pragmatic approach to system design and implementation
• Strong Assets: Prior experience working with fintech systems, payments gateways, or e-commerce checkout flows is a significant advantage
• Experience with security best practices related to handling sensitive financial data
