Senior Manager Design & New Product Development

We are seeking a highly skilled and technically strong Senior Manager Design & NPD to lead the product design, development, and innovation function for our FIBC business. The ideal candidate must have deep expertise across 4-loop, single-loop, food-grade/pharma-grade FIBCs, and container liners, with a strong understanding of both PP and PE manufacturing processes. This role demands a smart designer who can balance customer expectations with manufacturing feasibility and cost efficiency—ensuring designs that work perfectly on the shop floor and deliver customer delight.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Product Design & Technical Specification Development

Convert customer requirements into accurate and feasible technical specifications.

Release detailed production orders and final BOMs aligned with customer needs and internal design standards.

Ensure specifications are optimized for cost, productivity, and manufacturing feasibility from the BOM stage itself.

Correlate customer expectations with plant capabilities to avoid impractical or costly designs.

2. Expertise Across All FIBC Categories

Design and develop:

4-loop FIBCs

Single-loop FIBCs

Food-grade / Pharma-grade bags

Container liners

Provide technical leadership on PP and PE processes including extrusion, weaving, lamination, liner extrusion, and stitching feasibility.

3. New Product Development (NPD)

Lead the end-to-end NPD function, ensuring First-Time-Right samples.

Develop customer samples with OTIF (On-Time In-Full) performance as a key KPI.

Coordinate with production, QA, procurement, and planning teams to ensure smooth development cycles.

Anticipate production challenges and correct designs proactively before sample or bulk release.

4. Customer Interaction & Technical Problem Solving

Act as the primary technical solution provider for customers.

Identify customer design gaps, errors, or impractical requests—and suggest corrective, optimized solutions.

Demonstrate strong technical judgement; not simply follow customer inputs blindly, but provide value-added engineering recommendations.

5. Cost Optimization & Feasibility Engineering

Ensure all designs and BOMs are smart, cost-effective, and aligned to manufacturing capabilities.

Reduce material consumption, eliminate unproductive features, and improve process flow from the design stage.

Support continuous improvement initiatives by providing design-level inputs.

6. Documentation, ERP & Technology Skills

Prepare accurate technical drawings, specs sheets, BOMs, and design records.

Work extensively in ERP systems for creation of items, BOMs, and production orders.

Strong hands-on skills in advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and technical documentation tools.

Utilize digital tools for faster and error-free design development.

7. Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work closely with Sales, QA, Production, Procurement, and Planning to ensure seamless product development.

Provide design clarifications and training to internal teams.

Support cost negotiations and audits by providing technical data and spec analysis.

Preferred candidate profile:

15+ years of experience in FIBC Design, Technical Specifications, and NPD, including 4-loop, single-loop, food/pharma grade bags, and container liners.

Deep knowledge of PP and PE manufacturing processes.

Strong ability to correlate customer expectations with internal standards and practical feasibility.

Experience releasing technical specifications, production orders, and final BOMs.

Proven track record of First-Time-Right sample development and achieving OTIF targets.

Excellent analytical, technical problem-solving, and cost-optimization skills.

Strong communication skills and ability to manage customer technical conversations independently.

Proficiency in MS Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and ERP systems.

Smart, proactive, and detail-oriented with a strong ownership mindset.
