Senior Linux Administrator

As a member of our team at Ameriprise India LLP, you will be responsible for maintaining the end-to-end life-cycle management of RHEL servers. This includes tasks such as provisioning, installation, software packaging, patching, planned & unplanned maintenance, service configuration, and integration with our monitoring platform. Your role will involve developing and continuously enhancing tools, utilities, reports, and frameworks to support production support, operational processes, and re-engineering efforts. Collaboration with Cloud Engineering will be essential to enable the development of end-to-end automated platforms. You will also play a crucial role in maintaining the health and hygiene of Linux servers while contributing towards API gateway-related deliverables and moving towards server-less infrastructure. In this position, you should be able to handle independent assignments related to troubleshooting, problem diagnosis, and resolution for one or more technologies. Proactive monitoring of stability and performance within your area of expertise will be required to drive appropriate corrective actions before incidents occur. You will work closely with team members and contractors/vendors to prevent or resolve incidents/problems efficiently. Additionally, recommending, deploying, and documenting strategies and solutions based on comprehensive analysis will be part of your responsibilities. Participation in the continual refinement of processes, policies, and best practices to ensure optimal performance and availability of technologies is crucial. Continuous professional development is encouraged, and you will be expected to stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies. Your role will also involve contributing to the development of operational reporting, including health check reports, capacity/performance reports, and incident/problem reports. Data collection, tracking, and analysis will be integral to your responsibilities, using various techniques and systems to collect technology operations performance data. Trend analysis and developing tools & utilities to enhance compliance with defined SLA/OLAs will be key focus areas. Collaboration with application teams to determine monitoring requirements and implementing appropriate monitors will be essential for continuous improvement. Your expertise and data analysis skills will help identify corrective actions to increase efficiency, improve performance, and meet targets.
