Job Description

Key Responsibilities

1. Property Title Due Diligence

  • Conduct

    comprehensive title searches

    for residential and commercial properties
  • Prepare

    Title Search Reports (TSR)

    for banks, NBFCs, and financial institutions
  • Verify chain of title, ownership history, encumbrances, litigations, and statutory approvals
  • Identify legal risks and provide clear legal observations

2. Legal Documentation & Drafting

  • Draft and review legal documents including but not limited to:
  • Sale Deeds
  • Agreement for Sale
  • Leave & License Agreements
  • Lease Deeds
  • Mortgage Deeds
  • MOUs
  • Banking & NBFC-related documentation
  • AGR and property-related agreements
  • Ensure documents comply with applicable laws, bank policies, and regulatory norms

3. Legal Advisory & Compliance

  • Provide legal opinions on

    property transactions, banking security documents, and NBFC matters

  • Advise clients on

    RERA compliance

    , civil laws, and property-related regulations
  • Ensure adherence to statutory requirements and regulatory guidelines

4. Use of Legal Portals & Research

  • Conduct property verification using

    IGR (Inspector General of Registration) portals

  • Utilize online legal databases for due diligence and research
  • Stay updated with amendments in

    property laws, RERA, civil laws, and banking regulations

5. Client & Stakeholder Coordination

  • Coordinate with

    banks, NBFCs, builders, clients, and internal legal teams

  • Respond to legal queries related to title clearance and documentation
  • Ensure timely delivery of legal reports and documentation

Required Qualifications

  • LLB degree

    from a recognized university
  • Enrolment with

    Bar Council

    (preferred)
  • 4- 8 years of experience

    in non-litigation legal practice

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of

    Property Law, Civil Law & RERA

  • Expertise in

    Title Search & Due Diligence

  • Excellent

    legal drafting and vetting skills

  • Hands-on experience with

    IGR portal & property verification

  • Exposure to

    banking & NBFC documentation

  • Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple files
  • Good communication and client-handling abilities

Preferred Candidate Profile

  • Experience with

    bank/NBFC-empanelled law firms

  • Mumbai property law exposure
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
  • Immediate to short notice joiners preferred
