Job Description

In this role as a Senior Kubernetes Platform Automation SRE Engineer at Mastercard, you will be part of the Builder Enablement Program and will be responsible for operating a new on-premises Kubernetes capability using Openshift. Your main focus will be to monitor, operate, investigate, and improve the fully automated platform that will support tens of thousands of workloads globally at Mastercard. Key Responsibilities: - Implement IT initiatives to support and improve operational efficiency, drive automation, enhance cost effectiveness, and create operational excellence. - Champion technology innovation and change, collaborate with innovation stakeholders, and foster a culture of collaboration. - Utilize previous experience in implementing Kubernetes within an organization and proficiency in infrastructure/platform automation to evangelize these practices across the organization. - Focus primarily on services to meet SLAs and efficiency targets, providing support for solutions based on high-availability, agility, scale, and efficiency principles. You will work with: - Agile frameworks - Infrastructure As Code - Infrastructure and Network technologies - Orchestration of build and deployment of containerized environments - Building and maintaining virtualization automation, monitoring, and reporting tools - Troubleshooting and resolving complex environmental issues - Participating in automation initiatives for driving change and efficiencies - Mentoring and sharing knowledge with team members through retros, planning meetings, and daily standups Qualifications: - 3+ years experience with building and operating on-premises Kubernetes (OpenShift preferred). CKA, CKAD, or CKS certifications are a plus. - Strong infrastructure experience in networking, storage, and compute (VMWare preferred). - Demonstrated ability to organize, manage, plan, and control multiple concurrent initiatives with conflicting needs. - Proven track record of successful delivery in a large enterprise environment. - Familiarity or working knowledge of public cloud patterns, container tools, pipeline tools, ancillary tools, logging and monitoring tools, and scripting languages. If selected for this role, you will be expected to adhere to Mastercard's security policies and practices, ensure the confidentiality and integrity of accessed information, report any suspected information security violations or breaches, and complete all mandatory security trainings as per Mastercard's guidelines.
