The Senior Kubernetes Platform Automation SRE Engineer role at Mastercard offers an exciting opportunity to be a part of the Builder Enablement Program, where you will be instrumental in operating a new on-premises Kubernetes capability using Openshift. This global role will involve supporting tens of thousands of workloads and require skills in monitoring, operating, investigating, and improving the fully automated platform. As a key member of a global team, you will be responsible for implementing IT initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, drive automation, improve cost effectiveness, and promote operational excellence. Your role will also involve championing technology innovation, collaborating with stakeholders, and fostering a culture of collaboration within the organization. To excel in this position, you should have previous experience in implementing Kubernetes within an organization and possess proficiency in infrastructure/platform automation. Your focus will primarily be on services to ensure SLAs and efficiency targets are met, while providing support for solutions based on principles of high-availability, agility, scale, and efficiency. Key responsibilities of the role include working with Agile frameworks, Infrastructure As Code, infrastructure and network technologies, orchestration of containerized environments, virtualization automation, monitoring tools, and troubleshooting complex environmental issues. Additionally, you will participate in automation initiatives, mentor team members, and contribute to knowledge sharing through retrospectives, planning meetings, and daily standups. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in building and operating on-premises Kubernetes, preferably with OpenShift, and certifications such as CKA, CKAD, or CKS would be advantageous. Strong infrastructure skills in networking, storage, and compute, particularly in VMWare, are essential. You should demonstrate the ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives in a large enterprise environment and have a proven track record of successful project delivery. Moreover, familiarity or working knowledge of public cloud patterns (AWS/EKS, Azure/AKS), container tools (Kubernetes, Docker), pipeline tools (Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform), ancillary tools (Artifactory, Hashicorp Vault), and logging/monitoring tools (Loki, ELK, Prometheus, Kibana, Splunk, Dynatrace) is highly desirable. Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Bash, and Go will be an added advantage for this role.,
