Senior Java Developer

Role & responsibilities

• Design and development:

  Architect and build high-quality, scalable, and secure Java-based applications and server-side logic.

• API and database management:

  Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and manage both relational (RDBMS) and NoSQL databases.

• Performance and optimization:

  Ensure application performance, reliability, and efficiency. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues and bugs.

• Mentorship and collaboration:

  Mentor junior developers through code reviews and guidance, and work with other teams (e.g., product managers, architects, data scientists) to align technical solutions with business goals.

• Code quality and testing:

  Write clean, testable code and ensure adequate test coverage through unit, integration, and performance testing.

• Technical documentation:

  Create detailed design documentation and maintain technical standards.

Required skills

• Java: Strong proficiency in Java (e.g., Java 11+), including concepts like OOP, multithreading, and concurrent APIs.
• Frameworks: Experience with frameworks like Spring, Spring Boot and Microservices.
• Databases: Hands-on experience in PostgreSQL along with RDBMS and/or NoSQL databases and writing SQL queries.
• APIs: Experience creating and consuming RESTful web services.
• Testing: Proficiency with unit testing frameworks like JUnit and Mockito.
• DevOps: Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, modern deployment tools like Kubernetes & Dockers and cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) is required.
• Problem-solving: Strong analytical, logical, and problem-solving skills.
• Soft skills: Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
• Experience in insurance industry

  of professional experience in insurance industry
