Senior Java Developer

Role Overview: As an Applications Development Senior Programmer Analyst, you will be an intermediate level individual contributor responsible for participating in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs. Your main objective will be to contribute to applications systems analysis and programming activities, focusing on hands-on application development in Java technologies. Your expertise in applications development will be utilized to analyze complex problems, evaluate business processes, and adhere to industry standards. Key Responsibilities: - Participate in hands-on application development and application management activities in Java and related technology stack - Conduct tasks related to feasibility studies, time and cost estimates, IT planning, risk technology, applications development, and model development - Establish and implement new or revised application systems and programs to meet specific business needs or user areas - Monitor and control all phases of the development process, from analysis and design to construction, testing, and implementation - Provide user and operational support on applications to business users - Analyze business processes and system processes, recommend and develop security measures, and ensure successful system design and functionality - Consult with users/clients and other technology groups, recommend advanced programming solutions, and provide installation and assistance with customer exposure systems - Define operating standards and processes, and serve as an advisor or coach to new or lower-level analysts - Exercise independence of judgment and autonomy, act as a subject matter expert to senior stakeholders and/or other team members, and assess risk when making business decisions Qualifications: - 7+ years of industry experience with hands-on development of mission-critical applications using Java technologies - Knowledge of spark programming - Experience with Angular and JavaScript - Proficiency in development IDEs such as Eclipse and IntelliJ - Familiarity with SQL using Oracle or any other relational database - Good knowledge of CI/CD systems - Experience in working on a native cloud platform would be an advantage - Experience in C# would be an added advantage - Strong problem-solving skills, business acumen, and excellent oral and written communication skills - Experience with Agile Software Development Lifecycle methodology and related tooling (e.g., JIRA, Scrum) - Experience in systems analysis and programming of software applications - Experience in managing and implementing successful projects - Working knowledge of consulting/project management techniques/methods - Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements Education: - Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience (Note: This job description provides a detailed overview of the responsibilities and qualifications for the Applications Development Senior Programmer Analyst role.
