About the Role

Senior Java Backend Engineer (Gen AI- Voice and Conversation AI)

Key Responsibilities

• Own and evolve the architecture of our AI backend platform, built on

  Java

  and

  Spring Boot.

• Design scalable, secure, and low-latency systems that integrate with

  LLMs

  ,

  TTS/STT

  , and

  RAG pipelines

• Lead development of

  RESTful APIs

  ,

  microservices

  , and

  data orchestration

• Collaborate with

  AI/ML engineers

  to integrate inference layers and deploy real-time AI avatar experiences
• Optimize backend for

  performance, cost-efficiency

  , and

  reliability

  across cloud environments
• Drive implementation of

  CI/CD pipelines

  , testing, and DevOps best practices
• Mentor junior engineers and take end-to-end ownership of feature delivery
  

Requirements

• 4-6 years of backend development experience in high-growth startups, especially in B2B space and

  AI first environments with Java (11/17)

  and

  Spring Boot

• Deep expertise in system design, microservices, event-driven architectures, and distributed systems
• Strong experience in cloud infrastructure

  AWS (preferred), Azure or GCP

  also welcome
• Experience working with AI teams or

  AI/ML product integrations

• Familiarity with integrating

  TTS/STT APIs, LLM endpoints

  , or asynchronous inference layers
• Proficient in working with

  PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, and message queues like AWS SQS/SNS, Kafka or RabbitMQ

• Strong understanding of security, scalability, and performance tuning
• Startup or high-growth environment experience is a big plus
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

• Exposure to

  MLOps

  and deploying ML models in production
• Experience with

  Docker
