Role Overview: As a Senior Inpatient DRG Medical Coder, you will be responsible for accurately assigning ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes and ICD-10-PCS procedure codes for complex inpatient cases. Your role will involve reviewing full medical records, ensuring compliance with official guidelines, and communicating effectively with clinical staff for documentation clarification. Key Responsibilities: - Assign accurate and complete ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes and ICD-10-PCS procedure codes for inpatient encounters - Review inpatient medical records including H&P, progress notes, operative reports, and discharge summaries - Ensure correct code sequencing in compliance with official guidelines - Identify missing, unclear, or conflicting clinical documentation and initiate provider queries - Adhere to ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS Official Guidelines, client-specific coding policies, and maintain high standards of accuracy - Meet productivity and quality benchmarks while collaborating with QA, audit, and operations teams - Support junior coders by sharing coding knowledge and best practices Qualification Required: - 7-10 years of overall medical coding experience with a minimum of 5 years in Inpatient Facility (DRG) coding - Strong hands-on exposure to complex inpatient cases - Science Graduate or Postgraduate (Life Sciences preferred) - AHIMA or AAPC certification (CCS, CIC, CPC, or equivalent) Additional Company Details: The company is looking for senior inpatient coders with deep DRG experience, professionals comfortable with complex medical and surgical inpatient cases, and individuals seeking a stable, full-time production role in a structured environment.
