Senior Group Financial Accountant

You will be joining Aurora Energy Research as a Senior Group Financial Accountant, reporting to the Group Financial Controller. Your role will involve preparing monthly management information, including financial statements, P&L accounts, balance sheets, reconciliations, and cash flow statements. You will also be responsible for overseeing financial reporting for the parent company and subsidiaries, ensuring compliance with UK GAAP, and supporting external financial audits. As the go-to technical expert on accounting matters, you will maintain financial controls, enforce policies, and drive process improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities: - Assist in preparing monthly management information and consolidated financial statements - Analyze and reconcile balance sheet accounts, including intercompany balances - Handle financial reporting for the parent company and subsidiaries - Prepare consolidated financial results in accordance with UK GAAP - Review statutory reporting for multiple legal entities to ensure compliance - Support external financial audits and ensure adherence to accounting policies - Maintain a strong financial control environment and enforce financial policies - Lead process improvement initiatives and transition to IFRS in FY25 - Manage a Group Financial Accountant and deputize for the Group Financial Controller - Undertake any ad hoc projects as agreed with the Group Financial Controller Qualifications Required: - Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent) with at least 15 years of experience - In-depth knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP - Experience in risk identification, process improvement, and internal controls - Previous experience in preparing consolidated financial statements for multinational organizations - Proven experience in fast-paced, asset-light, service-based, or high-growth industries - Excellent communication skills, both written and oral - Strong analytical mindset with problem-solving abilities - Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in data analysis - Innovative thinker with the ability to implement new financial solutions - Experience collaborating with stakeholders at all levels In addition to a challenging role, Aurora Energy Research offers benefits such as Private Medical Insurance, Employees Provident Fund Scheme, Maternity Leave, Holiday Entitlement, and an Employee Assistance Programme (EAP).,
