Description
As a Senior Group Financial Accountant at Aurora Energy Research, you will play a crucial role in the finance team during a period of fast international growth. Your responsibilities will include: - Assisting in preparing monthly management information, such as consolidated financial statements, segmented P&L accounts, balance sheet, intercompany reconciliations, cash flow statement, and commentaries for senior management. - Performing detailed analysis and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, including intercompany balances, ensuring accuracy and resolving discrepancies. - Handling end-to-end financial reporting for the parent company and ensuring consistent reporting across all subsidiaries. - Preparing timely and accurate monthly and annual consolidated financial results for the Group in accordance with UK GAAP. - Reviewing and overseeing statutory reporting for multiple legal entities within the Group to ensure compliance with local regulations. - Supporting external financial audits, including preparation of supporting schedules, working papers, and ensuring timely responses to auditors. - Being the go-to technical expert on accounting matters and ensuring adherence to the Group's accounting policies and standards. - Maintaining a strong financial control environment by ensuring effective financial controls are in place and adhered to. - Monitoring and enforcing financial policies, controls, and procedures across the business, ensuring consistent application across all entities. - Leading initiatives to drive continuous process improvement and efficiency within the finance department, identifying opportunities to streamline financial operations. - Leading the project to transition to IFRS in FY25. - Managing a Group Financial Accountant based in the Gurgaon office. - Deputizing for the Group Financial Controller. - Handling any other ad hoc projects as agreed with the Group Financial Controller. Qualifications required for this role include: - Being a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent) with at least 15 years of experience in a similar role. - Having in-depth knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP, with a proven ability to apply technical accounting principles. - Experience in risk identification, process improvement, and developing internal controls to safeguard financial assets. - Previous experience in preparing consolidated financial statements for a multinational organization. - Proven experience in fast-paced, asset-light, service-based, or high-growth industries, with a strong track record of delivering results. - Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and concisely. - Strong influencing and negotiation skills, with the ability to challenge and support management decisions. - Having a highly analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities and a keen eye for detail. - Advanced Excel skills, proficiency in data analysis, and the ability to innovate and implement new solutions to financial challenges. - Experience collaborating with stakeholders at all levels within an organization, including senior management and external auditors.
