Trend Research & Concept Development Conduct in-depth market research to identify emerging trends, fabrics, and design inspirations, with a focus on linen wear for women and children. Develop seasonal themes and mood boards that align with the brand's aesthetic and target audience. Stay current with the latest fashion trends and consumer preferences to inform design decisions. 2. Design Creation & Development Lead the design process from initial sketches to final prototypes, ensuring designs meet both aesthetic and quality standards. Collaborate with team members to select seasonal themes, make edits to product lines, and develop new concepts. Utilize design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and CAD tools to create detailed technical sketches and specifications. 3. Material Selection & Fabrication Source and select appropriate fabrics, trims, and materials that align with design concepts and budget constraints. Work closely with fabric vendors to procure high-quality materials suitable for linen wear. Ensure that fabric choices meet the functional and aesthetic requirements of the designs. 4. Production Oversight Oversee the entire design process, from concept development to production, ensuring that designs meet quality standards, timelines, and budges. Collaborate with production teams to translate design ideas into tangible garments. Conduct fittings and make necessary adjustments to designs to ensure proper fit and overall aesthetic. 5. Team Leadership & Collaboration Lead and mentor a team of junior designers, pattern makers, and assistants, providing guidance throughout the design process. Foster a collaborative and productive work environment, encouraging creativity and innovation. Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, merchandising, and sales, to ensure cohesive execution of the design strategy. * Required Qualifications & Skills Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or a related field. Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in fashion design, with a strong portfolio showcasing creative and commercially viable designs, particularly in linen wear for women and children. Knowledge in Men’s wear is plus. Technical Proficiency Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign). Strong knowledge of garment construction, pattern making, and textile selection. Experience in handling dyeing processes, printing, and both machine and hand embroidery techniques. Soft Skills Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team of designers. Location & Work Environment Position based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. Full-time role with expectations for in-person collaboration and occasional travel for market research and events/shoots. Salary As per Industry standards, depending on years of experience and skills.
