Senior Estimator

As an Estimator at CDM Smith Inc., your role involves entering quantity take-offs and material unit pricings for projects, recognizing and applying appropriate work breakdown structure (WBS), and identifying the complete scope of the project with limited levels of design definition. You will be responsible for coordinating corporate estimating functions and producing quantity take-offs by reviewing plans and specifications in assigned areas. Additionally, you will mentor and train other estimators, coordinate estimate material pricing, and assist with project buy out and troubleshooting for specific disciplines when requested by project staff. Key Responsibilities: - Produce quantity take-offs by reviewing plans and specifications - Identify specific discipline take-offs within specialized disciplines - Enter quantity take-offs in Sage Timberline and material unit pricing - Create final OPCC report for internal and external clients - Mentor and train other estimators - Coordinate estimate material pricing from vendors - Complete general administration and record-keeping duties - Assist with project buyout and troubleshooting for specific disciplines - Close coordination with respective design discipline lead for scope definition Qualifications Required: - Education: Bachelor's degree in civil engineering and master's degree in construction management or equivalent - Experience: Minimum 15+ years of relevant estimating experience in the construction field - Thorough knowledge of estimating techniques, cost control, and material pricing - Proficiency in ACAD, Revit, Civil 3D preferred - Ability to read and comprehend drawings and specifications - Advanced knowledge of estimating techniques and cost controls - Strong personal computer skills including estimating and On-Screen digitizing software - Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills - Fluent command of spoken and written English,
