What you ll do: The Center for Sustainability at EIIC Pune is looking for a senior engineer with passion and drive to help organizations make meaningful progress towards sustainability. This role will support Eatons corporate sustainability initiatives by developing methods and tools grounded in Life Cycle Assessment, GHG accounting and circularity asessments to enable Eatons 2030 goals across supply chain, manufacturing and products. "In this role, the candidate will work closely under the guidance of technical specialists, and independently deliver mulitple projects. The candidate will be responsible for: 1. Development and deployment of appropriate environmental accounting tools and methods into various business processes across supply chain, manufacturing and product development 2. Monitoring external trends, upcoming regulations, evolving standards & methodologies in LCA & sustainability and adapting them appropriately for Eatons processes. This includes topics such as EU Taxonomy and ESPR, avoided emissions, GHG reporting and data exchange standards, science based target setting, net zero, circularity standards etc. 3. Responding to customer requests for sustainability information and ESG reporting such as CDP, Ecovadis etc. by developing appropriate responses for Eaton by working with cross functional teams across the company 4. Mentoring and developing junior team members to build skills and capacity in life cycle asessment / GHG accounting 5. Working closely with corporate sustainabiltiy team to continuously develop appropriate sustainability strategy, monitor goals and support corporate reporting" Qualifications: Masters or Bachelors in an engineering, sustainability or environmental science/technology/management discipline " 3+ / 5+ years of relevant experience across LCA, eco-design and corporate sustainability or Bachelors degree in an engineering, sustainability or environmental science/technology/management and 5+ years of relevant experience across LCA, Eco-Design & corporate sustainability. Skills: "Technical Knowledge: 1. The candidate must be able to demonstrate in-depth expertise in one of the following areas: Life Cycle Assessment or carbon accounting standards, that can be demonstrated through some or all of the following - Hands-on experience in 5+ LCAs Certified LCA practitioner (ACLCA), Critical reviewer for LCA (ISO 14040/44) or registered EPD verifier with reputed program operator Peer reviewed journal publications in LCA/Ecodesign/sustainability domain Application of GHG Protocol and Scope 1, 2, 3 accounting standards & ISO standards for Carbon Footprints 2. Demonstrate breadth of knowledge in sustainability related areas through knowledge or experience in some or all of the following: Sustainability reporting & relevant standards & frameworks (GRI, SASB, TCFD, CDP, SDG etc. ), ESG reporting and rating standards (MSCI, FTSE, DJSI, Ecovadis, TfS etc. ) Operations sustainability - environmental management systems, environmental impact assessment (EIA), energy efficiency, green buildings/LEED standards Water footprinting & water risk assessment, climate risk assessment, environmental valuation, life cycle costing, social impacts Sustainable financing, renewable energy, carbon taxes & carbon pricing, EU taxonomy, climate risks, target setting, SDGs etc. Product stewardship & chemical regulations such as REACH, RoHS, TSCA, ELV, WEEE etc. 3. Detailed knowledge of one or more of the following is a plus: ESG reporting & sustainability standards, energy efficiency standards/certified energy auditor, renewable energy project development, energy efficiency and energy monitoring implementation 4.
