Job Title: Senior Engineer -

Company:

Job Summary:

Responsible for managing tooling design, feasibility assessment, and new product development (NPD) activities for aluminium-stamped parts. The role involves close coordination with design, suppliers, and production teams to ensure tooling readiness, dimensional accuracy, and timely PPAP approval for new programs.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Expertise:

  • Design and validate

    stamping tools

    for aluminium components.
  • Possess strong knowledge of

    aluminium stamping processes, machines, and raw materials

    .
  • Apply know-how on

    stage tooling and progressive tooling design

    .
  • Resolve

    dimensional and forming issues

    in thin-gauge aluminium materials.

Systemic / NPD Responsibilities:

  • Drive

    New Product Development

    post-commercial finalization.
  • Conduct

    feasibility reviews

    and close deviations with the Engineering team.
  • Handle

    PPAP of NPD parts

    in coordination with supplier and QA.
  • Conduct

    supplier capacity and process assessments

    .
  • Support

    new supplier evaluation

    for tooling and process capability.
  • Execute

    Supplier BOP DVP

    (Design Validation Plan) and participate in design reviews.
  • Clear

    quality-hold materials

    at incoming inspection related to NPD parts.
  • Monitor

    APQP milestones

    and ensure timely updates to Program Management.
  • Manage

    trial parts (T0T2)

    and ensure issue closure with NPD QA.
  • Verify

    availability of gauges, fixtures, and tooling

    for production readiness.
  • Drive

    packaging approval

    and sign-off with plant teams.
  • Support

    SOP + 3 months

    monitoring for customer complaints, fitment, and production issues.
  • Facilitate

    handover to series production

    with confirmed cycle time approval.
  • Implement and control

    Change Management (NDRN)

    activities at supplier end.

Key Skills & Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of

    tool design, stamping, and aluminium forming processes

    .
  • Working knowledge of

    APQP, PPAP, and NPD systems

    .
  • Proficiency in

    CAD tools (CATIA / NX / Creo preferred)

    for tool design and validation.
  • Good understanding of

    supplier quality systems

    and process audits.
  • Excellent

    coordination and communication skills

    with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in

    automotive manufacturing environment

    preferred.
  • Proficient in

    MS Office

    and exposure to

    ERP systems (SAP preferred)

    .

Education & Experience:

  • B.E. / B.Tech (Mechanical / Production / Tool Engineering)

  • Experience:

    3 8 years in tool design, NPD, or process engineering (automotive domain preferred)
