As a Senior Engineer, Software Development (Java) at Landis+Gyr, you will be responsible for the development and maintenance of applications for large-scale AMR/AMI systems using Java/J2EE technologies on the Windows platform. Your role will involve working in all areas of software engineering, including design, implementation, review, documentation, testing, and support based on business requirements. Key Responsibilities: - Design, develop, and maintain applications for a large-scale AMR/AMI system using Java/J2EE technologies on the Windows platform - Participate in the definition and design of software solutions - Produce design and architecture documents for existing and new software systems - Perform unit testing and accurately estimate work effort - Setup, configure, and troubleshoot lab environments - Deliver artifacts on time and with the highest quality - Follow company standards for coding, documentation, source control, code reviews, unit testing, and performance testing - Stay informed on open source projects and relevant technology topics - Stay motivated, take initiative, find solutions, be detail-oriented, and take pride in assigned work Desired Skills/Competencies: - 3-6 years of experience in the development and deployment of service-oriented, web-based enterprise software products/solutions - Hands-on experience in implementing multi-layer architectures using technologies such as Java/J2EE, multi-threading, JPA, JDBC, ActiveMQ, Web Services SOAP and REST, JMS, XML/XSD, Oracle, SQL, JUnit, Maven, Ant, Application Servers (Weblogic, WebSphere, JBoss), GIT, Eclipse IDE, Agile/Scrum methodologies (Jira, Confluence) - Good to have experience in web rich UI technologies like Javascript, Action Script, Adobe Flex, Angular JS Qualifications and Additional Requirements: - Relevant tertiary qualification in B.E (CS, IT, ECE), B.Tech, M.E, M.Tech, MCA - Drive and enthusiasm to work in a dynamic, cross-functional, and international environment If you are ready to take on this challenge and contribute your expertise in a collaborative and innovative setting, Landis+Gyr looks forward to meeting you.
